SCHEDULE/HRS:
Monday-Friday Rotating Shift (1-week cycle) // 37.5 hours per week
07:15-15:15, 08:00-16:00, 08:45-16:45, 09:15-17:15, 09:30-17:30, 09:45-17:45
HOURLY WAGE:
$26.83 - $29.76 as per the collective agreement
(2024 rates, implementation of new collective agreement is in process and new wage rates $28.46 to $31.57 will be implemented once funding is received)
The Role:
The Early Childhood Educator (ECE) provides an enriched program for children which meet the needs of the families in the community. The ECE also provides opportunities for children with both typical and special needs to interact on a daily basis. The ECE works in conjunction with the Manager to ensure the needs of the children are met.
Requirements/Education/Experience:
- Completion of BC Early Childhood Education Certification
- Completion of Special Needs Certification is preferred
- Related training/certification in the area of children with special needs is an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with inclusive groups of preschool aged children.
- Experience with special needs functional assessment, individual and group program design and evaluation.
- Experience in the area of Behavior Management.
- Criminal Record Clearance
- Medical Clearance
- Valid First Aid/CPR
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification – training will be provided
- Demonstrated competency in English written and verbal communication
- Basic computer literacy
- Eligible to work in Canada
