Accounts Payable Assistant (Summer Student)

The Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for providing both accounting and administrative support to the Finance Department
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Accounts Payable
- Verifies and posts vendor invoices in accordance with company policies.
- Processes bi-weekly payment runs and ad hoc manual payments as required.
- Reconciles vendor statements and follows-up on outstanding invoices, corresponds with vendors, responds to inquiries and investigates discrepancies.
- Reconciles corporate credit card statements.
- Maintains Accounts Payable filing system, including cheque registers.
- Processes employee and board expense reports and maintains filing system.
- Responds to general inquiries from suppliers and staff members with regards to accounts payable.
- Other duties to assist the Finance Department as required
The ideal candidate will be a post‑secondary student enrolled in an Accounting, Finance, or related program for Fall 2026. The ideal candidate will also have the following skill set:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written)
- Proficient knowledge of accounting practices, procedures and terminology
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Strong time management skills
- Reliable, responsible, and able to follow established processes
This is a full-time summer student position based out of our Moncton Branch, and set at 37.5 hours of work per week. The term for this position will be from July 6 to September 4, 2026, with an hourly rate of $20.00.
