North Central Co-op invites applications for the position of Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Administrative team in Stony Plain, Alberta . The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, including invoice matching, coding, posting, statement reconciliations, payment processing, and vendor correspondence. Occasional overtime will be required.

This position will report to Administration and Member Services Manager and will be responsible for the following:
- Accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions, including reviewing, matching, coding, and entering invoices and expenses for payment while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and authorization limits
- Maintain accounts payable records and reports, processes weekly cheque runs and electronic payments, posts cash disbursements, and ensures payments are issued on time while maximizing available discounts
- Reconciles vendor statements, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and maintaining positive working relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Monitor and track rent, property tax, and utility payments for North Central retail locations to ensure accounts remain current and in good standing
- Set up and maintain vendor accounts, sending and receiving invoices as required, and supporting accurate record management
- Assist with special projects related to continuous improvement and process improvements to the organization for further efficiency growth
- Help maintain and improve accounts payable policies, processes, controls, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective financial operations
- Assist with other finance tasks and duties as needed or required such as Finance and Administration, Accounts Receivable and Member Services
Requirements:
- Have a High School Diploma and a Certificate or Diploma in Accounting or Business would be considered an asset
- 2-5 years related experience
- Exceptional interpersonal and strong communication skills required (verbal and written)
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with the ability to use formulas, and other functions of Excel
- Experience with JD Edwards would be considered an asset
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and financial transactions
