Overview:

Are you looking for a new opportunity as an APP? Are you seeking a meaningful challenge with the support of a highly collaborative team?

Look no further. Sentara is partnering with VirtuCare, a team of exceptional urologists, to build a comprehensive urology service line. You will complete a structured urology training program and be paired with a remote, board-certified urologist from day one.

This is not the typical physician–APP relationship. You will have direct access to a urologist before, during, and after clinic. They will provide ongoing teaching and mentorship to help you become the face of urology within Sentara.

Surgeons will travel on-site to perform procedures, ensuring patients receive comprehensive, coordinated care.

The VirtuCare Model – Clinical Autonomy with Expert Support

  • Board-Certified Urologist On-Call: Immediate phone or video access for case reviews, imaging questions, and post-operative concerns
  • Immersion Program: A structured onboarding experience including lectures, educational resources, and on-site training prior to your first clinic day
  • Flexible Scheduling: Start at 20 hours per week, with the opportunity to increase hours and compensation as your patient panel grows
  • Optional Procedural Training: Opportunities to learn procedures such as cystoscopy and percutaneous nerve evaluations for sacral neuromodulation, based on your interests


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the newly established outpatient urology clinic in Elizabeth City, NC
  • Diagnose and manage conditions including BPH, kidney stones, UTIs, pelvic health concerns, erectile dysfunction, and incontinence
  • Coordinate surgical care with VirtuCare physicians and provide local post-operative follow-up
  • Build strong referral relationships with primary care, OB-GYN, and emergency department teams as the local urology expert


Position Highlights:

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm, no evenings or weekends
  • No call requirements at this time
  • Position is all outpatient and must be able to practice independently

Minimum Requirements:

  • Active NP or PA
  • Master’s level degree
  • Experience preferred, but new grads with a background in urology are welcome
