AltaGas - Maintenance Supervisor, RIPET
AltaGas is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor to support the Ridley Island Propane Export Terminal (RIPET), a key asset that connects Canadian energy to global markets. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and shape the performance of a critical maintenance function within a world-class export facility, while playing a key role in ensuring reliability, safety, and operational excellence.
We’re looking for a strong, people-focused leader who brings deep maintenance experience and a passion for operational excellence. In this role, you will lead the maintenance team while driving improvements across safety, asset performance, work management, and overall team capability. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the terminal operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, while helping build a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
You Will:
- Provide leadership and direction to the Maintenance team, supporting hiring, performance management, development, and overall team effectiveness
- Foster and strengthen a safety-first culture, including a 100% reporting culture and strong safety awareness
- Oversee and manage all maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable terminal operations
- Prioritize and coordinate maintenance work in alignment with business needs and operational priorities
- Support the development and execution of annual and long-term maintenance plans, including budgets and capital projects
- Apply Asset Management Program (AMP) practices to optimize reliability, reduce costs, and support data-driven decision-making
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Projects, and other stakeholders to enable seamless terminal performance
- Support the development and integration of the Operations Management System (OMS) into maintenance activities
- Ensure effective preventative maintenance programs are in place to meet regulatory and reliability requirements
- Manage maintenance budgets, monitor expenditures, and mitigate financial and operational risks
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely execution of maintenance work and availability of materials
- Oversee inventory and spare parts management to minimize downtime and improve efficiency
- Participate in Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFAs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Support capital projects and new developments, including planning, commissioning, and maintenance readiness
- Act as a liaison between maintenance and engineering teams to support optimization and performance improvements
- Provide technical mentorship to support team growth in maintenance practices, asset management, and project execution
You Have:
- 10+ years of experience in maintenance and operations within the oil and gas industry, with demonstrated leadership experience
- Experience managing a maintenance department and leading teams of trades professionals
- Journeyman Trade certificate or technical diploma
- Strong understanding of maintenance, operations, and asset performance risks and their financial impacts
- Experience with Enterprise Asset Management systems (Maximo preferred)
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and present to stakeholders at all levels
- Proficiency with business tools such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and JDE
- Experience working collaboratively across departments and with subject matter experts
- Incident Command System (ICS 100) training and experience
- A strategic mindset with the ability to balance day-to-day execution and long-term planning

Compensation
This position offers a competitive base salary range of 1 55-170k/ year based on experience, education, and skills. AltaGas also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health coverage, retirement plans, and paid time off starting on day one.
