About The Role
As a Senior Apigee Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and governing enterprise-grade APIs while ensuring scalability, security, and compliance with API standards. You will be a valued member of the API Engineering & Integration team and work collaboratively with application teams, API providers, DevOps engineers, and platform teams.

Salary And Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 - $117,500 CAD, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

About The Role

In This Role, You Will
- Develop and manage APIs on Apigee using manual and pipeline-based deployment models
- Build and configure API proxies, shared flows, and policies aligned with enterprise standards
- Perform API enhancements, version upgrades, and ensure backward compatibility
- Conduct PR reviews to enforce governance, security, naming conventions, and environment configurations
- Deploy and support APIs across environments (Dev, QA, UAT, PROD) while troubleshooting performance and production issues

What You Need To Have To Be Considered
- 6–10 years of IT experience with at least 5+ years of hands-on Apigee development (Edge, Apigee X, or OPDK)
- Strong expertise in API proxy development, policies, shared flows, and API lifecycle management
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline-based deployments and multi-environment release management
- Solid understanding of API security (OAuth2, JWT, API keys, TLS) and REST-based integrations
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker-based deployments
- Familiarity with Git workflows, pull request reviews, and code governance processes
- Exposure to API monitoring, analytics, and observability tools
- Scripting knowledge (Shell, Python) for automation
- Experience with CDN/security tools such as Akamai and working in regulated domains (Healthcare, Insurance, BFSI)
