MMA Vézina is the regional office of Marsh McLennan Agency ("MMA") in Canada and offers property and casualty insurance brokerage services as well as life insurance (group insurance and retirement). MMA is present across North America and combines the personalized service model of a local consultant with the global resources of the world's leading professional services firm, Marsh ("NYSE: MRSH"). Our regional office is located in Montreal on Pierre-De Coubertin Avenue, near the Olympic Stadium.
A day in the life
As a Claims Adjuster within the Claims team, you will be responsible for handling a volume of claims of medium to high complexity, covering all lines of insurance. In this role, you will be expected to continually deepen and master various lines of insurance in order to effectively meet the needs of clients from different sectors. Working closely with the Account Executive, you will receive claim notices, contact policyholders, perform preliminary coverage verifications, and provide necessary information to those insured. You will also follow up on files by communicating regularly with policyholders, experts, and other stakeholders. Analyzing insurers’ decisions and presenting arguments to support or challenge those decisions when necessary, will also be required.
Involvement in various stages of claims will help move the claims forward, along with verifying the information received, and keeping reserves up to date. Close, ongoing collaboration with Account Executives and Account Representatives will be essential to the progression of the claims.

Our future colleague
We would like to meet you if your professional background includes these qualifications and you have these skills:
- A minimum of five years of experience in insurance claims in a relevant insurance line;
- Hold a claims adjuster permit issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers;
- Have completed a university or college diploma or equivalent work experience;
- A relevant combination of work experience related to the insurance industry and of studies can be considered;
- Fluency in French (written and oral);
- Proficiency in English is required, as this position involves frequent contact with international clients and/or external partners, and being the primary contact for assigned clients and/or external partners, no other employee can communicate on their behalf;
- Proficiency with the EPIC software;
- Knowledge of other Microsoft Office 365 tools.
