What you will be doing
As a Claims Admin Assistant, you’ll provide critical administrative support to the claims department. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing First Notice of Loss (FNOL) reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Entering and maintaining claim data in internal systems.
- Organizing incoming and outgoing claims mail (courier and regular).
- Handling glass claims end-to-end: from FNOL to confirming coverage and guiding the insured through the process.
- Communicating professionally with policyholders, claimants, and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting claims payments, invoicing, and cheque handling.
- Ensuring compliance with policies and industry regulations.
- Suggesting process improvements and assisting with general office tasks as needed.
- Providing day-to-day support to adjusters and management.
- Other Duties as assigned.
- High School diploma (or equivalent).
- Prior experience in an administrative or clerical role (insurance industry experience is an asset).
- Familiarity with insurance terminology and claims processes is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high-volume team environment.
- Customer-first mindset with professionalism and empathy.
In your first year, success will be defined by your ability to:
- Accurately process FNOLs and other documentation.
- Keep files and claims information organized and up to date.
- Maintain a professional, helpful, and solutions-focused approach with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute positively to team dynamics and process efficiency.
