Job Description
Midland Transport is currently seeking a professional Class 1 Night Shunt Driver based in Kentville, NS. The selected candidate will be a reliable person with a strong work ethic, positive attitude and a commitment to providing a Superior Quality service.
Main Role:
This run departs from Kentville nightly and typically follow the route: Kentville - Dartmouth - Moncton - Dartmouth - Kentville.
Shift: Mon-Thurs (6pm start)

Midland Transport is currently seeking a professional Class 1 Night Shunt Driver based in Kentville, NS. The selected candidate will be a reliable person with a strong work ethic, positive attitude and a commitment to providing a Superior Quality service.
Main Role:
This run departs from Kentville nightly and typically follow the route: Kentville - Dartmouth - Moncton - Dartmouth - Kentville.
Shift: Mon-Thurs (6pm start)

- Safety paid quarterly

- Move trailers safely and efficiently between the plant and yard
- Complete regular yard checks, including verifying all equipment onsite, fuel levels, reefer settings, and inside box temperatures
- Communicate any equipment issues to the Midland Shop or to Logistics for outside carriers, ensuring no compromised equipment goes unidentified
- Execute other tasks as required
- Occasional moves between terminals as required
- Education Required: High School or GED.
- Class 1 driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years’ safe tractor driving experience required.
- Clean driver’s abstract and criminal search.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to lift to 50 lbs. using the proper equipment.
- Excellent work ethic and reliability.
- Safety conscious.
