Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Operate equipment in County trucking fleet requiring AZ license. Perform inspections and maintain applicable records. Maintenance and clean-up of equipment.
Shift - Monday-Tuesday, Friday-Saturdays, 10 hours, 6:30am - 5:00pm
Contract Length: November 28, 2026
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (not listed in order of priority)
1. Operate roll-off truck with pup trailer.
2. Operate tractor and walking floor or dump trailer.
3. Complete vehicle inspections, completion of required forms and logs.
4. Maintenance and clean-up of equipment.
5. Ability to be assigned to locations based on operational requirements.
6. Collect materials from selected locations as assigned.
7. Other duties as assigned, including redeployment in emergency situations.
8. Comply with provincial and County occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.
9. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

EDUCATION, TECHNICAL SKILLS AND CERTIFICATION
- Must have a valid AZ drivers licence with a clean driving record.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Must provide own transportation to and from site(s).
- Must be able to deal with public and customers in a courteous manner.
- Knowledge of or experience in waste management would be an asset.
- Drivers’ license abstract required.
- Criminal records check that is less than 6 months old at time of hire.
EXPERIENCE
- One year recent and related experience with DZ trucks with AZ operation preferred.
- Experience with electronic routing equipment would be considered an asset.
EFFORT
- Walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing , carrying, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 80 lbs of weight.
- Mental and visual concentration when operating equipment/driving.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must wear the required PPE year round.
- Work is performed at waste management facilities
- Exposure to the elements is expected on a daily basis.
- Exposure to grease, oil, dust, dirt, noise, and foul odours on a regular basis.
