The Team
The BC Mail Plus Coquitlam team is a well-established and diverse group of drivers and support staff who work together to deliver important government mail across the Lower Mainland. With a team of approximately 18 people—including a manager, lead hand, drivers, and auxiliaries—they foster a respectful and inclusive environment where everyone’s contributions are valued and teamwork is essential. This team takes pride in providing reliable service that supports government operations and citizens, and they are known for their strong customer service and deep knowledge of government mail processes.

The Role
As a Postal Clerk, you will travel throughout the Lower Mainland to pick up, sort, and deliver government mail, helping ensure important information reaches citizens and public service offices on time. Your work directly supports accessible and reliable communication for diverse communities, making a meaningful impact on day-to-day government services. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with an excellent driving record and a clean driver's abstract.
  • Experience providing customer service.
  • Experience in keyboarding/data entry, word processing, creating spreadsheets and working with standard computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Experience using operating equipment such as hand and power pallet jacks, electric forklifts, delivery vehicles, mailing machines and electronic scales.
  • Experience using personal computers, multifunctional devices (MFD), handheld scanners and high-speed production scanners.

Provisos/Willingness Statements:

  • Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy items up to 30 kg such as mail bags and parcels using proper lifting techniques.
  • Must have good verbal and written communications skills.

About this Position:
This is a part time position.
This is a temporary opportunity until March 31st, 2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
This position has full time on-site requirements.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
