About The Role

ATB is looking for a dynamic Communications Specialist to join our Strategic Communications team. This individual contributor role is a critical part of our team and supports the execution of communication initiatives across the organization.

As a Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for both the planning and tactical execution of communication strategies, enabling our team members to do their jobs effectively and efficiently, and helping connect them to ATB’s overall business strategy. You will work across various areas of ATB, collaborating with members of the Strategic Communications team to plan and execute on impactful communication strategies.

Accountabilities

  • Owning, collaborating on, and executing communication plans taking into consideration the audience, message, channel, and strategic connections.
  • Supporting as the primary communication partner on select projects as assigned by your direct leader and other strategic communication leaders.
  • Writing and editing content across a variety of channels and mediums that appropriately reflects ATB’s voice while driving strategic outcomes.
  • Collaborating with members across the Strategic Communication team and providing support for the effective execution of cross-functional projects.
  • Providing assistance in technical and administrative tasks, including document management, research, livestream production, and channel maintenance.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

  • Two to four years of experience in corporate communications or a similar role.
  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a sharp eye for editing.
  • Ability to navigate multiple projects, competing priorities, and tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build and maintain partnerships.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and a creative problem-solver.
  • Ability to thrive both independently and in a collaborative team setting.
  • A growth mindset and a willingness to continuously learn.
  • Experience with Google Suite and Jira is an asset.

Workplace Arrangement

You can work from anywhere in Alberta, but you will be required to attend in-person meetings at either ATB Campus in Calgary or ATB Place in Edmonton as needed.
