The Compensation Analyst role will be an integral part of BURNCO’s Total Rewards team reporting to the Director, Total Rewards. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and maintenance of our U.S. and Canadian compensation programs. You will support compensation programs such as job evaluations, salary benchmarking, pay structure maintenance, job profiles and the alignment of our programs with overall organizational goals and objectives.

The Compensation Analyst role will be an integral part of BURNCO’s Total Rewards team reporting to the Director, Total Rewards. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and maintenance of our U.S. and Canadian compensation programs. You will support compensation programs such as job evaluations, salary benchmarking, pay structure maintenance, job profiles and the alignment of our programs with overall organizational goals and objectives.
What You Will Be Doing
- Maintain salary structures, pay grades and job classifications for exempt and non-exempt roles in Canada and the US
- Support the annual compensation cycle, including merit increases, market adjustments and incentive plan administration
- Support compensation planning activities, including survey participation, data analysis, policy reviews, and program updates
- Work directly with HR Business Partners to review and validate compensation recommendations for new hires, promotions, and internal transfers
- Assist in developing a company job architecture including job profiles, job families, and job descriptions to align with and support the talent management, performance management and succession planning programs
- Ensure we are compliant with laws and regulations
- Collaborate with the Total Rewards team on projects related to benefits, pension, system configuration, reporting improvements, process efficiencies, wellness and communication strategies focused on employee experience and education
- 3–5 years of experience in compensation, HR analytics or a related HR function
- Experience supporting compensation programs in both Canada and the US
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel having comfortability utilizing complex formulas, pivot tables, and modeling
- Strong understanding in all areas of compensation, including market pricing & benchmarking, salary structure development, and job architecture
- Demonstrated success working effectively in a team-based environment
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and compliance requirements
- CCP designation or other related certifications are considered an asset
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to translate technical compensation concepts into clear, actionable guidance for key partners
- Experience with UKG (UltiPro / Kronos) is considered an asset
- This is a full-time permanent position based out of our Calgary Corporate Office with hybrid work flexibility for a blend of remote and in-office collaboration
- The hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
