We're actively seeking new talent to join our mission of delivering a stronger energy future in B.C. Join us, and together, let's shape a brighter future for B.C.

Position Overview

Are you a seasoned information systems professional passionate about system reliability and regulatory compliance? In this supervisory role, you’ll provide technical oversight and guidance to a team of technologists, ensuring safety, reliability, and alignment with BC Mandatory Reliability Standards (MRS). You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to uphold system integrity and support critical operations that power communities across the province.

We’re looking for someone with deep expertise in BC MRS, focusing on Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) compliance, and a strong understanding of information systems, especially with respect to operations technology and SCADA. You’ll thrive in this role if you bring exceptional organizational skills, technical writing and presentation abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

This is more than a job—it’s a chance to lead with purpose and make a lasting impact on the safety and reliability of BC’s energy systems. If you’re ready to bring your expertise to a collaborative, forward-thinking team, we’d love to hear from you.

In this role, you will:

  • Supervise the technical management, execution, and monitoring of MRS requirements and measurements to team members, field, and management personnel.
  • Monitor and implement operational requirements and perform in-depth analysis of reliability issues and impacts in support of MRS planning initiatives.
  • Supervise, direct, and hire staff, including managing and delegating work assignments to meet operational demands and stakeholder needs.
  • Apply knowledge of MRS standards and our infrastructure to establish a continuous improvement roadmap.
  • Build upon relationships between internal and external compliance staff, departmental units, and integrated teams to execute your roadmap and strategies.

What it takes:

  • A post-secondary degree with a preference in engineering, computer science, or information systems, plus five to seven years of electric utility experience in electric system operations, project management, and information systems or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • A demonstrated working knowledge of network infrastructure, virtualization, and server/workstation administration.
  • Great analytical skills to interpret information, make sound judgments and difficult decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills to influence and work effectively with multiple business units within a diverse organization.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills to engage with partners effectively.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive, and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
