The Role
This is a full-time, on-site Estimator role created to support our growth and rising project volume. You’ll own estimates from tender drawings to final bid: analyzing drawings and specs, building accurate pricing, managing subcontractor quotes, and presenting bids to management. You’ll work closely with our project management team, and your estimates will directly shape what we win and how profitably we build it.

The Role
This is a full-time, on-site Estimator role created to support our growth and rising project volume. You’ll own estimates from tender drawings to final bid: analyzing drawings and specs, building accurate pricing, managing subcontractor quotes, and presenting bids to management. You’ll work closely with our project management team, and your estimates will directly shape what we win and how profitably we build it.
What you’ll do
- Prepare detailed, accurate estimates for material, labour, equipment, subcontracts, and general conditions.
- Analyze tender drawings and specifications, and flag design issues, scheduling concerns, cost-saving opportunities, and constructability risks.
- Identify qualified subcontractors, solicit competitive pricing, and review and level quotes for best value.
- Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work.
- Prepare quotes and proposals for new projects and service calls.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, tender walks, and site visits.
- Coordinate and present bids to management on time and organized.
- Maintain the Master Tender List and keep growing our trade network.
- Prepare bid status reports and make sure bids comply with specifications, contract terms, and bid invitations.
- 5–8 years of estimating experience in construction, including bidding general contract work.
- Experience estimating ground-up construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Procore) and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Sharp attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines at once.
- Ownership mindset: you take responsibility for results and find solutions when others get stuck.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Base annual salary range: $75,000–$100,000 per year.
