Content Proofreader / Editor
Digital Shift
Date: 5 hours ago
City: Calgary, AB
Contract type: Full time
Do you notice the misplaced comma, the inconsistent capitalization, or the awkward sentence everyone else misses? Can you improve a piece of content without losing the writer's meaning or the client's voice?
Digital Shift is expanding, and we're hiring three to four additional Content Proofreaders & Editors to keep up with growing client demand. This role is ideal for an experienced editor with a background in content writing, an excellent command of English, and practical knowledge of SEO.
Why You'll Love Working Here
Your Day-to-Day
Picture it: a Google Doc lands in your queue, a service page for a plumbing company in Toronto or an HVAC contractor in Texas. It reads okay. But okay isn't what we ship. You tighten the flow, fix the comma splice in paragraph three, confirm the service details are accurate, and make sure the keywords sit naturally instead of jammed in. Then you push the clean version live in the CMS and send back a page the client is proud to publish.
You're the last set of eyes before content goes out, and the Content Lead, our writers, and the SEO team will lean on your judgment every single day.
What You'll Do
Since 2007, Digital Shift has taken a refreshingly direct approach to digital marketing. We cut through the typical agency nonsense and focus on results-driven teams and strong relationships that create lasting success. Our team is committed to an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are heard, respected, and integral to our success. Together, we help home service businesses across Canada and the US turn online searchers into customers.

- Fact-check names, locations, services, and claims, and flag plagiarism or unsupported information.

- Meticulous attention to detail. You catch the subtle stuff.
- Strong prioritization skills and the ability to meet deadlines across multiple assignments.
- A self-motivated, dependable approach to fully remote work.
