We are a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Director of Quality. This position reports to General Manager & Vice President with a dotted line to the Vice President of Quality, and will work in Vancouver, BC.
About The Position
Dometic Marine’s headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.
As the Director of Quality, you will be a member of Vancouver’s Senior Leadership Team and are responsible for the facility’s quality and quality systems. The Director of Quality ensures that customer requirements are fully understood, consistently met, and routinely exceeded, while driving long term improvements in product quality, process capability, and implementing and maintaining an integrated QMS (i.e., ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).

Your Main Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the organization’s quality strategy to support long term business objectives.
- Establish clear tactical and strategic goals to strengthen quality culture, operational discipline, and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary advocate for quality across the organization, influencing decision making at all levels.
- Ensure the Quality Management System is effectively implemented, maintained, and continuously improved.
- Partner with managers, supervisors, and process owners to ensure they understand and fulfill their QMS responsibilities.
- Lead internal and external audit activities, ensuring compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO).
- Ensure customer requirements, expectations, and specifications are accurately captured and communicated throughout the organization.
- Monitor customer satisfaction metrics and lead cross functional efforts to address gaps or emerging issues.
- Build strong relationships with customers, acting as a key point of contact for quality related matters.
- Champion quality improvement initiatives using structured methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis).
- Drive reduction in defects, scrap, rework, and warranty claims through data driven decision making.
- Lead cross functional teams to identify systemic issues and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality team to ensure strong technical capability and leadership bench strength.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and proactive problem solving.
- Promote training and development programs that elevate quality awareness across the organization.
- Establish and monitor key quality metrics, reporting performance to senior leadership.
- Use data analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure quality considerations are integrated into new product introductions, process changes, and operational planning.

Skills & Requirements
The ideal candidate for this role will bring demonstrated success in supply chain management. Additionally, they will have acquired the following qualifications and experiences:
- Engineering Degree with a focus in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing disciplines; related Technology diplomas/certificates.
- Eight (8) years minimum related experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Four (4) years minimum concurrent management or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working within an ISO Quality Management environment.
- Quality Management or Quality Engineering certifications are desirable.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office programs including: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint; and, the ability to learn other applications quickly.
- Working knowledge of ADQP, FMEA, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
- Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a strong team.
