Summary

The Doorperson represents the hotel at the main entrance by greeting guests in an enthusiastic and courteous manner. Maintains driveway traffic flow to allow main hotel entrance accessibility as well as to ensure ample space for passenger and luggage loading and unloading and offers luggage assistance to all guests.

The starting wage rate for this position is $21.74 per hour. After six months of employment, the rate will increase to $24.04 per hour, in accordance with the applicable Collective Agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Use friendly and appropriate expressions when engaging guests upon arrival and departure
  • Greet guests warmly, open doors, and provide a welcoming first and last impression of the hotel
  • Assist guests entering and exiting vehicles, ensuring safety and comfort at all times
  • Coordinate with Valet, Front Desk, and Bell Services to ensure seamless guest flow
  • Call taxis or shuttle transportation for guests as requested
  • Provide directions and information regarding hotel facilities and local points of interest
  • Escort guests to hotel areas when appropriate
  • Monitor the entrance area to ensure cleanliness, organization, and a professional appearance at all times
  • Manage traffic flow at the front drive, ensuring safety and efficiency for guests and vehicles
  • Recognize and notify the Front Desk and Guest Services of VIP arrivals whenever possible
  • Engage in conversation with guests to enhance their overall experience
  • Ensure the entrance is covered at all times and communicate any gaps to leadership
  • Attend all designated staff meetings and training sessions
  • Complete all tasks assigned by manager
  • Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal
  • Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude and performance
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Candidates must be able to speak fluent English
