Education Assistant – Prince George, BC

HCOS Education Assistants are independent contractors who provide program support, behaviour and academic interventions, and encouragement to Home Learners within the Inclusive Education Department. Please see our Education Assistant Profile for more information.

The Position:
We are seeking two Education Assistants to work on-site one day per week in our Prince George Community Connections class for the 2026/27 school year. This is a part-time contract position that may grow in hours over the course of the school year, depending on student needs and EA skillsets.

Location: Prince George, BC
Grades: 2/3 or 6/7
Schedule: Thursdays, 8:45 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.

As the Education Assistant your duties and responsibilities will include:

Support the social, spiritual, and academic learning needs of students, providing mentorship to the whole person
Connect with students individually or in small groups
Collaborate with teaching staff to support delivery of personalized learning opportunities
Build relationships with families, teachers and other EAs
Assist in carrying out IEP goals, working alongside the broader student support team

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:
Background working in Education, EA Support, Behaviour Intervention, or with children/youth
Professionals with non-EA specific credentials are encouraged to also apply (e.g., psychology, behaviour analysis, social work, coaching, mathematics, etc.)
A valid Certified Educational Assistant certificate (or training in process) is considered an asset

What we offer:
Competitive Wage: $23.97 – $28.13 hourly depending on certification and experience
