What You Can Expect
SolutionAir is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design, develop, and support electrical systems for HVAC products. This hands-on role will lead production designs, support manufacturing and testing, drive product improvements, and ensure compliance with safety and performance standards while collaborating across Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and other teams.

SolutionAir is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design, develop, and support electrical systems for HVAC products. This hands-on role will lead production designs, support manufacturing and testing, drive product improvements, and ensure compliance with safety and performance standards while collaborating across Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and other teams.
The Successful Candidate’s Responsibilities Will Include
- Designing electrical systems for HVAC products, including schematics, panels, wiring, controls, and Bills of Material.
- Preparing production-ready drawings, specifications, and manufacturing packages.
- Supporting production, quality, supply chain, applications, sales, and customer service throughout the product lifecycle.
- Troubleshooting electrical and controls issues and providing technical support to field personnel.
- Supporting product development, testing, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Managing engineering changes, including ECNs/ECOs, product standardization, and design improvements.
- Collaborating with Development and Test Engineering to improve design for manufacturing and assembly.
- Working with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to resolve technical and product-related issues.
- Ensuring designs meet applicable safety, quality, performance, and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting testing and verification of electrical systems and controls.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering, or a related Technologist Diploma.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical product design and development, preferably with HVAC or large commercial equipment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and controls systems, including PLCs, DDC, VFDs, motors, heaters, and compressors.
- Experience with SolidWorks/SolidWorks Electrical or similar CAD systems.
- Experience with engineering change processes, MRP systems, Bills of Material, and Design for Manufacturing.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards and certifications such as UL and CE.
- Experience with communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and LONtalk.
- Ability to work hands-on and safely with electrical systems up to 600V AC.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a cross-functional team.
- Registered or eligible for registration with EGM, CTTAM, or equivalent.
- Valid passport and ability to travel within North America as required.
