Electrical Field Service Estimator

Position Overview:
Working with the Field Service Project Managers, the Field Service Project Estimator will prepare estimates and propose technical solutions that meet our customers Request for Proposal requirements for electrical equipment and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the estimating of field service products which includes coordinating with project managers and clients, as well as internal departments such as design, production, purchasing, quality and management to produce an accurate quotation.
- Estimating tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Contract review
- Technical design requirements
- Estimate (labour, materials, disbursements and equipment)
- Work with purchasing to obtain quotes from various suppliers and contractors
- Communicating with customers to further refine requirements
- Ensuring T’s and C’s are reviewed by appropriate RDA
- Proposal Documents
- Participate in final Review
- Assistance with final project documentation (e.g., reports, turnover packages, etc.) to highlight deficiencies and prepare estimates for future deficiency remediation follow-through work
- Completing proposals based on timeline requirements ensuring all deadlines are met
- Responsible for engaging all required team members
- Representing REV in a positive and professional manner to all clients and REV personnel
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience working in the electrical field service industry is required
- Education / background as a Power Systems Electrician, Electrical Engineering Technologist, Journeyman Electrician or Electrical Engineer is an asset
- Previous experience with electrical estimating required
- Project estimating experience is considered an asset
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks in order to meet firm deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient using the Microsoft Office suite
- Mathematical competency
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (English)
