2026 FALL ENGINEERING INTERN
The Town of Wasaga Beach is now accepting resumes for position of Engineering Intern (September to December 2026). The Town will be accepting resumes from students that are available for a four (4) month co-op work term.
The Engineering Intern will be responsible for: assisting the Engineering Division to evaluate programs and initiatives, assist with issuing permits and construction inspections, and policy development; interacting with other department staff, consultants, outside agencies and the public regarding engineering related issues; conducting topographic surveys of existing Public Works facilities and assist with developing designs for roadway, drainage and environmental improvements; supporting engineering staff with safety reviews of transportation facilities; collecting traffic data and preparing summary reports; monitoring advancement in technology/industry best practices; and performing field visits to review project progress.

Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to those registered in a full-time post-secondary Civil Engineering (Co-op) Degree/Diploma Program in the next academic year;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Applications is required;
- Previous work in a public sector environment or transportation is an asset;
- Experience in analysis, specialized engineering software, data collection and interpretation is an asset;
- Ability to multi-task and excellent attention to detail;
- Strong customer service skills;
- Valid Class “G” Ontario drivers’ license preferred, minimum of “G2” is required;
- Able to provide an appropriate criminal records check and drivers’ abstract upon hire
