We are currently seeking candidates for the Field Geomatics (Survey) Technician (Intermediate/Senior) position. You will be a key member of our Reality Capture Team within the Data Integration Services Practice. You will play a vital role in our multidisciplinary team, leading field operations, mentoring junior staff, and supporting our public-sector clients (federal, provincial, and municipal), Indigenous communities, and private-sector partners.

This position includes extensive fieldwork throughout Canada. We offer flexible work hours to help balance the competing demands of field deployments and personal life.

Responsibilities
- Lead and undertake complex field surveys for high-accuracy geospatial data collection, including topography, boundary, and fixed site features.
- Oversee the collection and management of geospatial data from a variety of advanced sources, such as robotic Total Stations, GNSS equipment, RPAS and scanners.
- Provide senior-level support to the design team regarding coordinate systems, geodetic datums, and adjustments to survey data.
- Manage the import and export of geospatial data and establish rigorous methodologies for survey data collection workflows.
- Evaluate, test, and implement new geospatial tools and technologies, including field hardware, applications, and software.
- Supervise the quality of geospatial data collection procedures and help to develop, inform, and implement best practices for workflow, quality control, and data management.
- Oversee geospatial and survey equipment care, management, calibration, and tracking.
- Liaison across corporate offices for survey technical support and mentorship of junior technicians.
- Providing GIS technical support is an asset.
- Commit to self-development, ongoing learning, and professional development.
- Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.
- A degree in Computer Science, Geography, Surveying, Science, Engineering, or a related field
- A minimum of 5-10+ years of professional field surveying experience, preferably in the consulting industry, or technical program equivalent.
- Demonstrated abilities in the use of Autodesk software (Civil 3D, Revit, etc.) are an asset.
- Demonstrated abilities in the use of ESRI GIS software (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online) are an asset.
- Report writing, organization, and interpersonal skills are assets.
- Versatile, adaptable, and willing to conduct a variety of tasks.
- Experience in the use of ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit and Trimble Business Centre (or similar).
- Advanced GNSS and Total Station experience.
- Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordination
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with RPAS (drones) and/or 3D laser scanning is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of the following programs and programming languages is an asset: Pix4D, Power BI, CityEngine, Python, ArcPy, JavaScript, and Arcade.
