Weyerhaeuser is offering internships to students to support general forestry operations. This program is designed to give students a valuable learning experience, including exposure to different areas of operations such as forest measurements, GIS, silviculture, harvest and haul, operational planning, and road development.
Available locations include: Alberta (Drayton Valley, Edson, Grande Prairie), Saskatchewan (Hudson Bay), and Ontario (Kenora). These positions are temporary full-time roles with a tentative start date of early May 2027 and ending late August 2027.

- Enrolled in an Associate’s, Bachelor's, or Postgraduate program in Forestry or related field of study at an accredited college or university
- Completion of the first year of studies by the start of the internship
- Must possess a valid, condition-free driver’s license (requirements may vary by province).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Capable of meeting the physical demands of fieldwork, including safely lifting up to 50 lbs, operating ATVs and 4WD vehicles, and working in various weather conditions, from extreme heat to cold
- Willingness to work in remote forestland areas and perform tasks that may require standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods
- Strong safety values and behaviors
- A solid understanding of sound environmental practices
- Previous experience in forestry operations
- Ability to use a compass and/or GPS applications
- Experience driving a pickup on varying terrains such as steep inclines, dirt roads, wet or snow-covered roads as well as towing a trailer
- Valid First Aid training
- Previous completion of an ATV Safety Course
- High initiative (self-motivated)
