Working closely with project teams and operational leaders throughout Atlantic Canada, you will serve as a trusted advisor, helping identify and manage risk while supporting successful project delivery. This role requires a strong field presence, sound judgment, and the ability to build productive relationships across all levels of the organization.

Your Main Responsibilities

As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting our commitment to providing a safe and healthy workplace for our employees, clients, contractors, and communities. Working closely with project teams and operational leaders throughout Atlantic Canada, you will serve as a trusted advisor, helping identify and manage risk while supporting successful project delivery. This role requires a strong field presence, sound judgment, and the ability to build productive relationships across all levels of the organization.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible presence on project sites, laboratories, and operational locations throughout Atlantic Canada;
- Conduct site inspections, audits, observations, and risk assessments to identify hazards and verify compliance with safety requirements;
- Coach employees, supervisors, and project teams on hazard recognition, risk management, and safe work practices;
- Promote and foster a positive, proactive safety culture through engagement, education, and leadership;
- Provide practical health and safety guidance to support operational objectives and successful project delivery;
- Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions;
- Analyze leading and lagging safety indicators, incident data, and audit findings to identify trends and improvement opportunities;
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health and safety programs, procedures, and initiatives;
- Coordinate and participate in COR certification activities, JOHSC programs, regulatory compliance audits, and related initiatives;
- Develop and deliver safety training, orientations, toolbox talks, presentations, and awareness programs.
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field;
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive health and safety experience in consulting engineering, environmental services, construction, industrial services, laboratory operations, or a related industry;
- Professional designation such as CRSP, CRST, CHSC, NCSO, or equivalent is considered an asset;
- Experience supporting both field operations and leadership teams in complex, multi-site environments;
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices;
- Experience conducting investigations, inspections, audits, risk assessments, and corrective action management;
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and maintain health and safety management systems and programs;
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, coaching, and influencing skills;
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly throughout Atlantic Canada;
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
