Health & Safety Coordinator (CMP)

Position Scope

Charlottetown Metal Products (CMP) is seeking a motivated Health & Safety Coordinator to support a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace. This role offers hands-on experience in occupational health and safety, assisting with safety programs, training, workplace inspections, incident management, regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and continuously improve CMP's health and safety programs, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Lead onboarding, safety training, certification programs, and record management training.
• Manage workplace inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Manage WCB claims, return-to-work programs, safety reporting, and health and safety records.
• Manage Joint Health & Safety Committee activities, including meetings, inspections, records, and action tracking.
• Manage employee travel arrangements, and compliance-related administrative processes.
• Partner with employees and leadership to promote a safety-first culture through engagement, communication, and safety initiatives.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma, certificate, or post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Business Administration, or a related field
• 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing, construction, industrial environments, or health and safety is considered an asset
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work across departments and support multiple stakeholders.
• Valid First Aid certification or be able to obtain in the first month of employment
