Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Human Resources Advisor role based at Sunshine Village Ski & Snowboard Resort in Banff, AB. The Human Resources Advisor supports leadership, team members and volunteers across the company’s three operational sites, working in a trusted capacity and navigating the employment lifecycle. This role contributes to HR initiatives, programs, and continuous improvement efforts that support both operational effectiveness and the employee experience. The Advisor reports to the Human Resources Manager and works closely with all Resort departments.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Human Resources (HR) and HR Management, with experience supporting leaders and team members in an advisory capacity. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in seasonal, recreation and tourism-focused workplaces.
- Knowledge of HR Policies and procedures, including experience interpreting and applying internal guidelines in a consistent and equitable manner.
- Working understanding of Labor and Employment Law relevant to the region, with the ability to support compliance and escalate complex matters when needed.
- Demonstrated experience in Employee Relations, including coaching leaders, handling concerns, and supporting conflict resolution with discretion and professionalism.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; CPHR designation or eligibility is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential information responsibly.
- Proven organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, seasonal, guest-focused environment.
- Comfort working on-site in a mountain resort setting, with flexibility to support operations during peak periods, weekends, or holidays as required.
