We are seeking a skilled and motivated Industrial Electrician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing industrial electrical equipment and systems that keep our manufacturing operations running safely and efficiently.

This position is ideal for a Journeyperson Electrician or experienced Industrial Electrician who enjoys solving complex problems, working with a variety of equipment, and making a direct impact on production and operational success.

As a key member of our maintenance team, you will help minimize downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout our facility.

What You'll Do

Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial electrical equipment and control systems.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, voltage, current, resistance, and overall performance.
  • Identify equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform repairs in a timely manner.

Installation & Equipment Upgrades

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code requirements.
  • Install, modify, and commission electrical equipment and systems.
  • Install and maintain motors, generators, transformers, switchgear, switchboards, regulators, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Install, replace, and repair electrical wiring, conduits, feeders, lighting systems, and electrical components.
  • Support equipment upgrades, plant improvements, and capital projects.

Controls & Instrumentation

  • Troubleshoot and maintain industrial electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic control systems.
  • Install, maintain, and calibrate instrumentation and monitoring devices.
  • Assist with automation and process improvement projects when required.

Maintenance Support & Documentation

  • Complete maintenance reports, work orders, inspections, and repair records.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance and electrical supplies.
  • Assist with planning maintenance activities and material requirements.
  • Document completed work accurately and thoroughly.

Safety & Teamwork

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety standards.
  • Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Identify hazards and contribute to a safe and productive work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to achieve operational goals.

What We're Looking For

Education & Certification

  • Journeyperson Industrial Electrician certification preferred.
  • Completion of a recognized Industrial Electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid trade certification or eligibility for certification is considered a strong asset.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial electrical or maintenance position.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial machinery, control systems, and electrical equipment.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and reliability practices.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.

Working Conditions

This position is performed in an active manufacturing environment and may include:

  • Exposure to moving machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Exposure to airborne particles, dust, fumes, and industrial materials.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and occasional heat.
  • Moderate to high noise levels.
  • Overtime and emergency maintenance work as required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Pre-Employment Requirements

This is a safety-sensitive position. Successful candidates must be able to:

  • Pass a functional fitness assessment.
  • Pass a drug and alcohol test.
  • Pass an audiometric (hearing) test.
  • Pass a respirator mask fit test and hearing protection fit test.
  • Maintain a clean-shaven face where required for respiratory protective equipment.
