- Role: Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician
- Location: Fort McMurray
- Duration: 3-4 months starting September 2026
- Shift: Various
- Overtime: per project requirements
- Pre-Employment Condition: Pre-employment D&A test required
- Additional details: Camp accommodation provided. Travel assistance available within a six-hour drive of Fort McMurray.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform instrument pre-commissioning, commissioning, equipment checkout, and startup activities.
- Complete instrument calibration, configuration, verification, loop checks, point-to-point checks, and functional testing.
- Troubleshoot field instrumentation, wiring, communications, device configuration, and control system interface issues.
- Utilize HART communicators, AMS Device Manager, and other instrumentation calibration and diagnostic tools as required.
- Complete commissioning documentation including ITRs, check sheets, test records, deficiency/punch items, and turnover documentation.
- Identify, document, and support resolution of deficiencies through commissioning and startup.
- Complete redline markups and maintain accurate field documentation.
- Coordinate directly with commissioning, operations, electrical, controls, engineering, and vendor teams.
- Support vendor commissioning, equipment startup, system functional testing, and turnover activities.
- Perform all work safely in accordance with company and site environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician.
- Strong industrial commissioning and startup experience in oil and gas, midstream, petrochemical, or similar process facilities.
- Strong working knowledge of field instrumentation, HART devices, transmitters, control valves, and associated control interfaces.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, instrument datasheets, and commissioning documentation.
- Experience with AMS Device Manager considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a multi-discipline commissioning and startup team.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driver abstract.
- Valid H2S, First Aid, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, CSO, and CSTS certifications.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and at heights as required.
