Role Description

This is a safety-sensitive, dual-scope role that perfectly blends precision industrial pipefitting with specialized equipment operation during critical maintenance and turnaround windows.

As a Journeyperson Pipefitter / Bundle Puller Operator, you will provide customers with advanced bundle pulling solutions, project execution, and heat exchanger/cooler re-tubing services. You will ensure all work complies with applicable codes, blueprints, and rigid safety standards while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary crews and supervisors to complete projects safely and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and P&IDs to layout, assemble, measure, cut, fit, maintain, and repair high-pressure piping systems.
• Safely isolate shell-and-tube heat exchangers, unbolt heavy piping flanges, remove channel heads, install blanks/blinds, and roll tubes into tubesheets.
• Set up, align, and operate hydraulic bundle pulling equipment (aerial or truck-mounted) to safely extract and reinstall massive industrial tube bundles.
• Perform precise rigging, slinging, and crane signaling to move heavy exchanger components. Utilize technical bolting equipment, including Hy-Torque and tensioning systems.
• Inspect existing systems, troubleshoot leaks/failures, reassemble exchangers with new gaskets, torque flanges to exact specifications, and perform hydrostatic/pneumatic pressure tests.
• Maintain tools and equipment, complete required field documentation, and strictly follow Warco safety policies and procedures at all times.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Valid Journeyperson / Red Seal Steamfitter-Pipefitter certification.
• Valid safety tickets: CSO, First Aid, and H2S Alive.
• Rigging & Hoisting certificate is considered an asset.
• Confined Space Entry and Fall Protection certifications are considered assets.
• Prior experience with Heat Exchangers, Coolers, Bundle Pulling, and Re-Tubing is highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with technical bolting (Hy-Torque and Tensioning equipment).
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex industrial drawings and blueprints.
• Prior industrial or Oil & Gas experience is an asset.
• Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment Drug & Alcohol testing.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract and the ability to travel to and from the Bonnyville, AB worksite.
• Capable of working in physically demanding conditions, including regular heavy lifting (50+ lbs), working at heights, entering confined spaces, and working in varying outdoor weather conditions.
• A strong, reliable work ethic with a reputation for being punctual and dependable.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work under pressure in fast-paced industrial environments.
