Salary range for the position is $76,111 to $109,409. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

How Will You Create An Impact

The Knowledge Translation (KT) Coordinator supports and facilitates health research capacity activities (research projects as well as knowledge translation and exchange activities) to engage with partners in Interior Health (IH). The KT Coordinator also helps facilitate the development of collaborative research partnerships and sharing of research knowledge among IH, academia, and other external partners (including patient, public and Indigenous partners). This role is critical for building and sustaining a Learning Health System (LHS) by ensuring evidence and experiential knowledge are transformed into meaningful, actional improvements in practice.

The KT Coordinator is a member of the IH Research Department and is responsible for supporting activities that facilitate the dissemination and application of research knowledge and findings to inform health service delivery and practice. The role has a primary focus on community-based initiatives and is delivered through a range of methods, including research administration and knowledge translation activities. The KT Coordinator works in a support capacity with research and clinical-research teams, contributing to the effective delivery of departmental priorities and objectives. The KT Coordinator typically works in a support capacity within the research and clinical-research teams to support the overall work of the department; this position also leads targeted work as identified.

What Will You Work On

  • Knowledge Translation

Supports Activities To Promote Research And Knowledge Translation, Including

  • Developing, planning, and coordinating strategies for participation and active exchange and uptake of research findings.
  • Supporting translation of complex findings into actionable products for clinicians, leaders, and patients (e.g., decision aids, briefs, implementation toolkits).
  • Providing consultation, education, and support for integrated knowledge translation of key evidence to advance practice, improve population health, and/or enhance health services.
  • Responding to internal requests for evidence synthesis that informs practice or decision-making and supervising literature review and integration by research assistants.
  • Assessing readiness for change by identifying barriers and facilitators in clinical workflows, cultures, data, or resources.
  • Serving as a knowledge broker to connect and network research teams.
  • Facilitating communication and fostering the development of research partnerships between IH staff and departments.
  • Liaising IH and its external academic partners, including universities, funding agencies, patient/public and Indigenous Partners, and provincial and national research or knowledge translation bodies.
  • Representing IH on provincial and national research and knowledge translation networks, learning collaboratives, and communities of practice.
  • Monitoring provincial and national research priorities and KT opportunities, communicating these to IH, provincial counterparts, and university staff to develop partnerships.
  • Research and Scholarship

Fosters An Integrated Knowledge Translation Approach To Collaboratively Identify Research Questions, Design Creative And Applied Research Frameworks, Engage In Data Collection And Analysis, And Disseminate Research Results By

  • Collaborating with Practice Leaders, Educators, Knowledge Coordinators, Subject Matter Experts, and other key teams within IH to foster, guide, and support research and evidence-informed practice.
  • Pursuing research funding in collaboration with appropriate partners.
  • Engaging in research evaluation, using evidence-informed approaches to facilitate organizational and system-level learning.
  • Supporting dissemination of research results through peer-reviewed publication and presentations.
  • Preparing reports on research and knowledge translation activities for IH senior leadership and the IH Board, as requested.
  • Capacity Building, Teaching, and Education
  • Guides research staff who are providing consultations related to research or knowledge translation.
  • Prepares and leads select education and training events to enhance research capacity.
  • Supports the navigation of data access and documentation required for research proposals and/or ethics reviews.
  • Facilitates local, provincial, and national training opportunities in knowledge translation.
  • Research Communications and Events
  • Supports coordinated research communication and engagement activities including the sharing of ideas and information, collaborating on projects and initiatives, and jointly assisting with research events such as the annual IH Research Conference, workshops, seminars, and other research activities as they relate to the development of health services research.
  • In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees must report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately.
