From 26 offices in 15 countries, with projects in over 80 locations worldwide, we create sustainable outcomes for our people, clients, and communities.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior/Lead Talent Acquisition Specialist who thrives on identifying and securing hard-to-find technical talent. In this role, you'll lead full-cycle recruitment for complex and critical engineering, project delivery, and corporate positions across Ausenco North America. Partnering closely with business leaders and hiring managers, you'll act as a trusted talent advisor, developing innovative sourcing strategies, building proactive talent pipelines, and leveraging your market expertise to attract and secure exceptional professionals in highly competitive markets.

This is a hybrid position. For candidates based in the Greater Toronto Area, the role includes regular time in our Toronto and Burlington offices, with flexibility to work from home on some days. Candidates based in Vancouver will work in a hybrid arrangement, splitting their time between our Vancouver office and working from home.

About The Role

In this role, you will:

  • Own full-cycle recruitment for complex and hard-to-fill technical positions across engineering, mining, energy, infrastructure, and consulting disciplines.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop talent acquisition strategies aligned with workforce planning, project requirements, and long-term business objectives.
  • Build and execute proactive sourcing and talent-mapping strategies to identify passive candidates with niche technical expertise.
  • Develop and maintain robust talent pipelines for critical and future-focused skill sets, ensuring a consistent flow of qualified candidates.
  • Act as a market intelligence expert, providing insights on talent availability, competitor activity, compensation trends, and hiring strategies.
  • Drive an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle, from initial engagement through offer negotiation and onboarding.
  • Leverage innovative sourcing approaches, professional networks, industry associations, and digital platforms to engage top engineering talent globally.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping shape talent acquisition best practices, systems, processes, and employer branding strategies.

About You

You are a seasoned recruitment professional with a passion for identifying and engaging highly specialized technical talent. You thrive in fast-paced, project-driven environments and are recognized for your ability to influence stakeholders, build strong relationships, and deliver results.

You Bring

  • 12+ years of progressive full-cycle recruitment experience, including significant experience recruiting engineers and technical professionals within mining, energy, infrastructure, EPCM, engineering consulting, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated success hiring for complex and difficult-to-fill roles across multiple engineering disciplines and geographic markets.
  • Expertise in sourcing passive candidates using a variety of tools, networks, talent mapping techniques, and market research strategies.
  • Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence hiring decisions and provide strategic talent advice to leaders at all levels.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple high-priority searches simultaneously.
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • A collaborative approach combined with the confidence and autonomy to work independently.
  • Spanish language skills are considered a strong asset
