Job Overview

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Logistic Lead oversees end-to-end warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, and shipping activities, while leading and developing a small warehouse team to achieve productivity and performance targets. In parallel, the position manages transportation activities, coordinating closely with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods. The role holds accountability for import and export compliance, ensuring all documentation and processes meet regulatory requirements across Canada, the United States, and Europe. Additionally, it drives inventory accuracy through strong controls and continuous monitoring.

In this role you

Warehouse Operations

  • Lead and supervise a team of 3 warehouse personnel, ensuring productivity, safety, and performance standards are met
  • Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping
  • Ensure all goods are received accurately and shipments are dispatched on time
  • Maintain proper handling, storage, and organization of inventory

Logistics & Transportation Management

  • Coordinate and monitor all shipments between North America and Europe
  • Track shipments end-to-end and proactively resolve delays or issues
  • Collaborate with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation

Import/Export Compliance

  • Ensure all import and export documentation complies with regulations in Canada, the United States, and Europe
  • Review and validate shipping documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs paperwork
  • Verify and maintain accurate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes for all products
  • Prepare and complete required trade compliance documentation, including Section 232 declarations and USMCA when applicable
  • Stay up to date with international trade regulations and compliance requirements

Inventory Management

  • Own and ensure inventory accuracy within the warehouse at all times
  • Lead and coordinate cycle counts and full physical inventory counts
  • Implement processes and controls to improve inventory accuracy and traceability

Claims & Issue Resolution

  • Manage and process shipping and customs claims (damage, loss, delays, or customs-related issues)
  • Coordinate with carriers, brokers, and insurers to resolve claims efficiently
  • Maintain records of claims and identify root causes to reduce recurrence

Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes and reduce transportation and warehousing costs
  • Optimize shipping methods, routes, and carrier selection
  • Analyze logistics data and implement cost-saving initiatives

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or warehouse operations
  • Experience managing or supervising warehouse personnel
  • Experience with international shipping, customs compliance, and trade agreements (North America and Europe preferred)

Attributes

  • Strong knowledge of inventory control practices and warehouse management
  • Strong understanding of import/export regulations and documentation
  • Familiarity with HTS classification, Section 232 requirements, and USMCA documentation
  • Experience handling freight claims and issue resolution
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in logistics systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, ERP/WMS systems)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
