Role
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our growing team and support our global manufacturing operations. In this role, you will help coordinate the international movement of raw materials and finished goods, assist with shipment scheduling and documentation, support compliance with international trade regulations, and ensure products are delivered efficiently to and from our production facilities, suppliers, and customers worldwide.

Role
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our growing team and support our global manufacturing operations. In this role, you will help coordinate the international movement of raw materials and finished goods, assist with shipment scheduling and documentation, support compliance with international trade regulations, and ensure products are delivered efficiently to and from our production facilities, suppliers, and customers worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track international shipments via air, sea, and land to ensure timely delivery.
- Manage the import and export of raw materials, components, and finished goods for manufacturing operations.
- Prepare and oversee all shipping and customs documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and bills of lading.
- Liaise with global suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation providers to ensure compliant and efficient logistics operations.
- Ensure adherence to international trade regulations, Incoterms, and internal company policies.
- Monitor shipments to identify potential delays or disruptions and resolve logistics issues proactively.
- Optimize transportation methods, negotiate competitive rates with carriers and freight forwarders, and evaluate carrier performance to support efficient manufacturing processes.
- Maintain and update logistics records, delivery schedules, import/export licenses, tariffs, duties, and all related documentation.
- Track and report on shipping costs, delivery performance, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including sales, procurement, and warehouse personnel to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to shipment discrepancies, damages, and documentation errors.
- Support cross-functional and international collaboration to streamline logistics operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics function.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or related field preferred
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, or import/export operations
- In-depth knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs compliance.
- Familiarity with Incoterms and trade compliance documentation.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
- Experience with NetSuite (ERP System) would be an asset.
- Understanding of HTS codes and classification processes.
- Knowledge of international trade agreements and sanctions (e.g., USMCA).
- Experience with bonded warehousing and freight consolidation.
- Intermediate to Advance Level competency with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both written and oral forms.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Multilingual abilities (especially in Spanish, Mandarin, or other widely used trade languages) are a plus.
