Toromont Cat is looking for an experienced and motivated Machine Sales Representative to support business development and customer relationships in the Ottawa region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy construction and/or equipment sales and a proven ability to build long-term customer partnerships in a highly competitive market.

Candidates must reside in, or be willing to travel extensively throughout, the Eastern Ottawa region, including Prescott–Russell and Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry counties.

Compensation

$90,000 - $115,000

The listed target compensation includes commissions and other variable pay components and reflects expected annual earnings. It represents just one part of our total rewards package, and additional performance‑based bonuses or other elements may also apply.

In a typical day, YOU will:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers in the heavy construction and equipment markets, identify new business opportunities and grow market share within the assigned territory.
  • Promote, demonstrate, and sell equipment and related solutions to contractors and key accounts.
  • Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and sales presentations.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation through to closing.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, customer records, and activity reports.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (service, parts, operations) to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.

Must-haves for this role:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of outside sales experience, preferably in heavy construction and/or equipment sales.
  • Strong understanding of construction markets, contractors, and jobsite requirements.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written) preferred.
  • Must reside in the Ottawa region.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Customer-focused mindset with a consultative sales approach.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a broader team.
  • Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools.
