Meat - Assistant Department Manager Meat

Reporting to the Meat Department Manager, you will assist in managing the daily operations of the Department while providing outstanding service to our customers.

As the ideal candidate, you will have excellent communication and organizational skills. You will demonstrate outstanding customer service while you coach staff to provide superior cuts of meat. With the support of the Department Manager, you will utilize your leadership skills to assist with training employees.[PJ1]

• Provide customer service to meet customer needs
• Supervise meat personnel in the absence of the Meat Manager
• Promote an employee culture of coaching and development
• Complete customer meat orders
• Receive meat orders
• Perform daily meat preparation
• Merchandise the Meat Department
• Implement SMART retailing (Atlantic)
• Maintain sanitation standards
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
• Perform administrative duties as required
  
  

What You Bring To The Table

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Above average oral and written communication skills
• Good work ethic and ability to multitask
• High School Diploma
• Minimum of 12 months of experience/Previous meat retail experience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Thorough understanding of Health and Safety legislation, policies and practices is an asset
• Post-secondary certification is an asset
• Available days, evenings, and weekends
