Eli Lilly and Company
Date: 6 hours ago
City: Calgary, AB
Contract type: Full time
At Lilly, the work is demanding because patients are waiting. We unite caring with discovery to help make life better for people around the world, knowing that every decision, every detail, and every day matters. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, our over 50,000 employees around the globe take on complex challenges to discover and deliver life-changing medicines, strengthen how health is understood and managed, and support the communities we serve. This is hard, urgent, selfless work—but it’s work worth doing. If you’re driven by purpose and ready to bring your best to work that truly matters for patients, we invite you to join us.
Join us at the forefront of oncology innovation. This is a rare opportunity to work across multiple tumor areas and engage directly with some of the most exciting assets in Lilly's oncology pipeline, at a moment when the field is moving faster than ever. If you thrive on scientific discovery, love building relationships with brilliant minds, and want to help shape how cutting-edge cancer therapies reach the clinic, this role is for you.
Qualifications
At Lilly Canada, we have two levels of Medical Science Liaison positions based on the candidate’s experience, background, and qualifications. The expected compensation is:
Range 1: $100,500 - $147,400
Range 2: $117,750 - $160,000
This role is eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as participation in the Lilly Bonus Program and a company vehicle.
Responsibilities
As MSL, you'll be Lilly's key scientific ambassador to Canada's leading oncology experts, spanning multiple tumor types and therapeutic areas. You'll be the go-to resource for the latest science, from breaking conference data to the newest developments across Lilly's oncology pipeline, giving you a front-row seat to some of the most promising research in the field today.
Beyond sharing knowledge, you'll gather insights straight from the experts shaping the future of cancer care, feeding that intelligence back into Lilly's research and strategic direction. You'll be a genuine bridge between the academic world and Lilly's scientific engine, with the chance to influence how tomorrow's treatments are developed and delivered.
All of this happens within a strong ethical framework: compliance with applicable guidelines, Rules and Regulations for Conducting Research, the IMC Code of Conduct, the Eli Lilly Canada Policy on the Promotion of Pharmaceutical Products and Ethical Interactions with Health Care Providers, and other relevant regulations and codes.
What You'll Own
Build real relationships with the scientific community
You'll spend the bulk of your time out in the field, forging genuine peer-to-peer connections with scientific experts, researchers, educators and clinical investigators across tumor areas. You'll represent Lilly's science at the highest level, sharing deep disease-state and pipeline knowledge, and connecting thought leaders with other parts of Lilly's ecosystem, including Discovery, Real World Evidence Scientists, Clinical Research Physicians, and Global/Canadian External R&D.
Be the trusted voice of scientific truth
Experts will come to rely on you as their go-to source for accurate, current information, whether that's reprints, posters, medical letters, literature, access to internal experts, or teaching materials. You'll respond quickly and thoughtfully, building a reputation as someone worth reaching out to.
Never stop learning
Oncology moves fast, and you'll move with it. You'll stay sharp across multiple tumor areas and pipeline developments through conferences, literature reviews, and close collaboration with your MSL colleagues, so the whole team's knowledge keeps growing together.
Drive impact across the business
You'll be a connective force between scientific experts and Lilly's internal teams, including Clinical Research Physicians, Medical Information, Medical Education, Corporate Affairs, and Marketing. You'll surface the clinical insights and open questions you hear in the field directly to medical and brand teams, shaping strategy from the ground up.
