The Opportunity:

Postmedia has an immediate opening for a bright, curious, dedicated storyteller to join our award-winning team at The Chronicle Herald in Halifax.

What you’ll do:

• Work in a collaborative newsroom environment to find, develop and tell stories that people in Halifax care about and that affect their daily lives.
• Write short and longform stories that help readers live and thrive in one of Canada's fastest-growing cities.
• Adapt to a fast-paced, competitive environment to produce distinctive, insightful journalism that shines on all platforms, from digital to print, to emerging social media.
• Contribute to digital strategies that amplify your work and bring readers closer to the action. Think: newsletters, reader experiences, Q&As, videos, emerging social media and more.
• Build a following on social media by telling stories no one else is telling.

Qualifications:      

• A journalism degree or significant work experience in digital storytelling.
• A valid driver’s license and car.
  
  

Compensation:

Employment offers presented to the selected candidate are based on a combination of qualifications, experience, responsibilities of the role and the candidate's location.

Base Salary: $42,950.44 to $57,678.40

This is a unionized position subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement. The starting salary listed in this job posting is based on the rate outlined in the collective agreement. Offers will be made based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
