The Corporation of the City of North Bay (“the City”) is accepting applications for the position of Network Specialist. Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology, the Senior Network Specialist provides senior-level technical expertise in network infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud services, and enterprise systems. This position is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of technology services supporting the City and its partner organizations while contributing to technology modernization, infrastructure renewal, and cybersecurity initiatives.

Key Accountabilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise network, server, storage (SAN), cloud, and security infrastructure.
- Administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory, identity management, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Support and lead cybersecurity activities including monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and security best practices.
- Provide senior technical support and act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure and systems issues.
- Lead and support technology projects, infrastructure upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Information Systems staff.
- College diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Administration, or a related field.
- Five (5) years or more of progressively responsible experience supporting enterprise network, server, cloud, and cybersecurity environments.
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise networking, Storage Area Networks (SAN), Microsoft 365, Active Directory, virtualization technologies (Hyper-V), cybersecurity solutions, and infrastructure support.
- Experience leading or participating in technology projects and infrastructure implementations.
- Experience supporting municipal, public sector, or multi-site environments is considered an asset.
- Industry certifications related to Microsoft, networking, cloud, or cybersecurity technologies would be considered an asset.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle for use on the job.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, networking, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity principles.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Availability to participate in after-hours support and on-call activities as required.
