WAGE RATE: $45.49 – $64.06
Reporting to the Outpatient Mental Health and Addictions Manager, the Nurse Coordinator is responsible for clinical leadership, coordination, and oversight for patient care delivery with a specialized focus on addiction medicine and substance use care. The Nurse Coordinator is responsible for staff scheduling, daily staffing assignments, maintaining equipment and supplies necessary for delivery of care. The Nurse Coordinator will act as a role model for staff promoting effective multi-disciplinary communication, coordination of care and implementation of evidence based best practices in mental health and addiction medicine. The Nurse Coordinator liaises with other hospital departments and community partners to ensure good working relationships and patient flow. The Nurse Coordinator also works with clients and their families, ensuring care is trauma informed and evidence based, to co-ordinate care and resolve problems. Successful applicant must have an exceptional functional knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Health Care Consent Act, Evidence based addiction medicine protocols (e.g., META-PHI, CAMH), CNO Professional Standards and Practice Guidelines, and RNAO Best Practice Guidelines.
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses
- Recent experience in a coordinator or leadership role
- Demonstrated experience in acute care, addiction medicine, and withdrawal management
- Demonstrated experience in substance use disorders and treatment modlities
- Demonstrated excellent leadership, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to flex time to meet program needs
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record

Preferred
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
