What you will do

Reporting to the Highway Striping Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• operating and maintaining a tandem service truck;
• replacing the paint truck driver if required;
• maintaining, greasing, and cleaning equipment;
• inspecting equipment and maintaining vehicle logbooks;
• performing traffic control duties.
  

Work environment:

• Office location: primary reporting offices are located in Fredericton and Miramichi, typically travelling throughout the province away from the reporting offices the majority of the striping season
• Standard hours of work: Monday – Friday. typically with extended hours throughout the majority of the striping season
• Extensive travel throughout the province on a regular basis
• Working extended hours on a regular basis
• Possibility of a condensed work week

Essential Qualifications:

• Completion of grade ten (10), related work experience in operating equipment
• Possession of a valid New Brunswick, Class 3 driver’s license with endorsement for air brakes is also required, as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Asset Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following asse:

• demonstrated experience working with the application of pavement markings and related equipment.
  

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application the asset qualification in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

SALARY:

Operations Worker III: $28.72 per hour, based on a 40 hour week.
