Ottawa Bureau Chief REF#: JG35053 Village Media Inc.
Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Posted: September 15, 2026
Salary: $100,000 - $150,000
Description
Village Media is seeking an experienced journalist to lead a new Parliament Hill bureau of The Trillium.
The Trillium is Village Media’s Ontario political news website. For the past three years, The Trillium has been devoted to Ontario provincial political news and has developed a reputation for impactful accountability-focused journalism at Queen’s Park. Now, we’re expanding to Parliament Hill to bring hard-hitting, enterprising federal political news to our readers across Ontario.
Reporting to The Trillium’s editor-in-chief, the bureau chief will be responsible for leading and assigning the Ottawa bureau’s federal political news coverage and coordinating with the provincial team at Queen’s Park as well as with the broader Village Media chain.
The successful candidate will be passionate about breaking news that serves Ontario voters, holds governments to account and doesn’t follow the pack. The bureau chief will be team-oriented: they will file their own stories and assist the bureau’s reporters with their work.
