Daily tasks include selecting and labeling medications, operating repackaging equipment, replenishing patient‑specific carts and ward stock, and performing ordering and receiving duties. You’ll use automated and computerized systems to support accuracy and efficiency. Strong verbal and written English communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to confidentiality and teamwork are essential. You will also mentor and train other Pharmacy Assistants, new staff, and students. The ideal candidate demonstrates accuracy, professionalism, reliability, and the ability to succeed in a dynamic and continually evolving environment. You must be able to follow instructions, work independently and collaboratively, and adapt to changing workflows and technologies. Physical demands include visual acuity, keyboarding, heavy lifting and grip strength, twisting, crouching, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and extended periods of standing and walking. This role also involves handling hazardous medications with appropriate PPE. This site operates 7 days per week and requires availability for day, evening, and weekend shifts. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will be responsible for the packaging, distributing, shipping medications and the management and replenishment of medication inventory levels under the general supervision of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, with a basic understanding of inventory management and operations of unit dose repackaging equipment. Experience with Windows-based computer applications. Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stand for the duration of your shift, push/pull, bend/twist and lift up to 30 lbs. Must be fluent in the English language (written and verbal). Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Good organizational, problem solving, and decision-making ability. Must display tact, courtesy, discretion and respect confidentiality. Must be accurate, reliable, precise, co-operative, able to demonstrate an effective service attitude, and self-motivated. Must be able to work both independently and co-operatively in a team environment. Must be able to adapt to new technologies and change workflow patterns. An excellent attendance record, reliability, and personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment references.
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal education from a pharmacy related program preferred.
