Pharmasave #406 is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities

  • Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
  • Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
  • Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
  • Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
  • Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
  • Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
  • Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy setting, with a foundational understanding of pharmacy operations and business practices.
  • Highly skilled in the use of Kroll, with strong accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of Pharmacare/insurance billing processes and clinical services flagging.
  • Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Schedule

  • 40 hours per week (Full-time)
  • The store operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule, including opening, closing, and weekend shifts, as needed to meet business requirements.
