Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Golf, the Player Assistant / Tournament Marshall is responsible for supporting the daily golf operation by assisting fellow staff members in all facets of our business. Acknowledge all golfers before and after their golf rounds.

Reporting to the Director of Golf, the Player Assistant / Tournament Marshall is responsible for supporting the daily golf operation by assisting fellow staff members in all facets of our business. Acknowledge all golfers before and after their golf rounds.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of the pace of play.
- Maintain established starting time intervals in coordination with the golf shop staff to ensure pace of play.
- Enforce and implement the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures established by Deer Creek and Clublink.
- Maintain daily records and prepare reports of all incidents, accidents, and customer concerns.
- Inform and educate customers about pace of play, golf rules and golf etiquette.
- Assist with tournament organization (signage, scoring, cart setup, proximity markers, registration etc.)
- Adhere to all employment policies and procedures as laid out in the golf course employment handbook
- Follow health and safety policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor
- Welcome all golfers and help them navigate throughout the facility when asked.
- Be friendly at each guest encounter.
- To maintain the pace of play on the Golf Course in accordance with the appropriate timelines (4 – 4 hours 20 minute pace) This can vary under adverse conditions, such as cart paths only.
- Act as a Brand Ambassador for Deer Creek and Club link – Talk to our Guests and use their names when possible.
- Update the starter on a regular basis about playing times, or problem groups. If a group is slow, kindly advise them of the situation and ask them to catch up. If a group is a problem, inform the starter and the pro shop supervisor.
- Maintain constant contact with the starter.
- During large tournaments, act as a traffic monitor to assist with the flow of traffic around the property.
- Enforce cart and golf course rules, repair of divots etc.
- Whenever possible, rake sand traps, repair ball marks, and keep the golf course free from debris. Assure ropes and stakes are in proper repair.
- Assist pro shop upon request.
- Be hospitable to all players who either belong to or visit our courses.
- Get all lost and found items to the pro shop or try and locate the rightful owner before they leave the property.
- Good understanding of the game of golf
- 1 year of experience working as a Player Assistant or Marshall an asset
- Good Physical Strength - Ability to stand/walk/bend/push/pull for extended periods of time.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to follow and take direction from Supervisors/Managers
