Product Manager

About Cavtera

Cavtera builds digital solutions that connect real-world operations with data, software, and decision-making. We work closely with clients to understand how their businesses operate on the ground, then translate those workflows into scalable applications and data systems using Palantir Foundry.

Our team operates with the pace, ownership, and adaptability of a startup while solving complex operational problems for established businesses. We work directly alongside our clients, from the field to the executive level, to build technology that delivers measurable improvements to how their businesses operate.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Product Manager to help shape the vision, architecture, and evolution of the operational software solutions we build for our clients.

At Cavtera, we solve complex business problems by challenging conventional approaches and designing solutions that simplify how people work. We’re looking for someone who sees the bigger picture, connects the dots, and translates operational complexity into intuitive, cohesive software solutions.

You’ll work closely with Engagement Managers, Developers, and leadership to establish product direction, challenge assumptions, and guide solutions across multiple client engagements. You’ll bring traditional software product management expertise to an organization with deep operational knowledge.

This isn’t a role focused on managing backlogs or writing tickets. We’re looking for a strategic thinker who thrives at the whiteboard, asks difficult questions, and can move between high-level business strategy and detailed product design.

What You'll Do

  • Own the product vision: Define and communicate product direction that aligns business outcomes, client needs, and Cavtera’s long-term vision.
  • Solve the right problems: Break down complex operational challenges, challenge assumptions, and identify simple, effective solutions using first-principles thinking.
  • Lead product discovery: Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to understand business needs, validate assumptions, and define clear requirements.
  • Define solution direction: Establish product capabilities, workflows, user experiences, and high-level solution designs alongside technical teams.
  • Connect the dots: Understand how people, equipment, materials, work, and operational workflows intersect to create cohesive systems rather than isolated applications.
  • Guide engagement teams: Collaborate with Engagement Managers and Developers to challenge proposed solutions, provide direction, and ensure consistency across engagements.
  • Champion user experience: Design intuitive, practical workflows that eliminate friction and reflect how businesses actually operate.
  • Drive product evolution: Identify reusable patterns, shared capabilities, and opportunities to strengthen Cavtera’s foundational software offering.
  • Establish product excellence: Introduce product management best practices and champion Cavtera’s principles of Field First, Ruthless Simplicity, and Match Reality.

What We're Looking For

  • 5-10 years of software product management experience, ideally with complex B2B, enterprise, or operational software products.
  • Proven experience owning product vision, discovery, strategy, and solution definition.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and first-principles thinking, with an instinct for challenging assumptions and simplifying complexity.
  • Strong ability to understand complex business operations and translate them into intuitive software workflows and capabilities.
  • Technical fluency in software architecture, system integration, and data modelling, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Developers.
  • Experience leading product discovery workshops, mapping business processes, and facilitating collaborative whiteboarding sessions.
  • Strong understanding of modern product management practices, user experience, and iterative software delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High degree of autonomy, intellectual curiosity, and comfort navigating ambiguity.
  • Willingness to periodically travel to client sites to understand operations firsthand.

Nice To Have

  • Experience in construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, logistics, or other operationally complex industries.
  • Experience building enterprise platforms, interconnected business applications, or shared product capabilities.
  • Background in technology consulting, digital transformation, or bespoke software development.
  • Familiarity with domain-driven design, ontology-based data modelling, or Palantir Foundry.
  • Experience establishing product management practices within a growing organization.
  • Technical background in software development or systems architecture.

Salary Range

$100,000 – $150,000 CAD

Compensation is commensurate with experience. The final offer will be determined based on the candidate’s specific skills, technical proficiency, and relevant industry experience.
