Overview

The Program Facilitator supports the delivery of inclusive community programs at WINS Community Resource Hubs. This role assists with program facilitation, participant engagement, community outreach, and administrative support while helping create a safe, welcoming, and empowering environment for participants. Ideal candidates are passionate about community development, social impact, and supporting diverse populations.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs employment opportunity, applicants must:

  • Be legally eligible to work in Canada* in accordance with relevant provincial legislation/regulations
  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
  • Be available to start work immediately (during May–June)

Hours of Work:

Applicants must be available to work full-time (32 hours per week) for 8 consecutive weeks, Monday to Friday

Wage

$16.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation, delivery, tracking, and evaluation of program activities
  • Support the intake process for new participants to ensure a positive experience from the start
  • Collaborate with team members to develop new programs and activities, including participant recruitment and community awareness initiatives
  • Conduct research on innovative and inclusive approaches to empowerment-centered learning activities to support program development and enhancement
  • Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all participants
  • Foster positive peer relationships among participants to encourage a sense of community
  • Maintain accurate records of program participants, including attendance, demographics, outcomes, and other relevant data
  • Document participant highlights, testimonials, and other impactful moments to share with staff, senior management, donors, and the Board of Directors
  • Represent WINS at community events as required, promoting the organization and its programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the Community Resource Hubs

Requirements:

Education

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program, ideally in social work, community development, education, or a related field

Experience

  • Previous experience in community programs, social services, or similar environments through work, internships, or volunteer experience\
  • Experience in customer service or community outreach with the ability to engage participants and create a welcoming environment
  • Experience facilitating group activities or workshops is considered an asset
  • Experience working with diverse populations and empowerment-centered programs is preferred
  • Familiarity with basic record-keeping and data management is beneficial
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
