Role Overview
Reporting to a Superintendent, in the Projects Group, Trail Operations is currently seeking an individual in the role of Project Engineer. This challenging role will see you drawing upon your strong interpersonal and communication skills and your technical background.
Please note this role does require the successful candidate to live within 100KM of Trail, British Columbia. Relocation assistance will be offered however there is no camp or company housing.

Key Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Lead and support multi-disciplinary engineering studies and improvement initiatives, embedding value engineering and ensuring alignment with operational and business objectives
- Manage a portfolio of major maintenance, demolition and capital projects, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and executing, as per the applicable internal project framework
- Conduct equipment condition assessments, failure investigations, and asset life evaluations to identify risks and improvement opportunities
- Identify and implement opportunities for innovation, reliability improvement, and cost optimization across plant operations
- Oversee project execution to meet safety, environmental, quality, cost, and schedule expectations, applying full lifecycle project management principles
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Metallurgy, Projects and Shutdowns, Finance, and Business Planning teams
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders and leadership on project and asset performance, risks, and progress
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and project priorities
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required
- Applicants need to be eligible for registration or registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. (“EGBC”) as this will be a condition of employment. Teck will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, construction or project management in an industrial or operational setting
- Experience with capital project development, including scoping, estimating, scheduling, and risk management
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including solid facilitation skills. Complete competency with the MS Office suite, including MS Project and Visio
