Summary:

Position: RF Engineering Manager

Department: Engineering

Reports to: General Manager

Work Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hourly Rate: $110,000.00 – 140,000.00

Location: Aurora, ON

Sinclair is seeking an experienced RF Engineering Manager to lead the development of innovative antenna, RF conditioning, and wireless communication products from concept through production. The successful candidate will be an engineering leader with deep technical expertise in RF systems and demonstrated success managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.

This role is responsible for leading product development, team performance, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality, reliable, and market-leading RF solutions. The RF Engineering Manager will work closely with Product Management, Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, and executive leadership to drive innovation and support business growth.

What You’ll Do:

• Product Development & Innovation
  
  
  
  • Lead the design, development, validation, and commercialization of RF products including antennas, RF filters, and wireless communications solutions.
  
  
  • Drive technology roadmaps and product platform strategies that enable scalable, configurable, and cost-effective solutions.
  
  
  • Manage product development activities from concept generation through verification, manufacturing transfer, and lifecycle support.
  
  
  • Oversee technical design reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices, quality standards, and design controls.
  
  
  • Promote innovation by identifying emerging technologies, market trends, and opportunities for new product development.
  
  

• Review and approve technical specifications, requirements documents, test plans, product drawings, manufacturing documentation, and technical publications.


• Ensure designs meet customer, regulatory, manufacturing, reliability, and performance requirements.


• Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical challenges related to product development and field performance.


• Participate in technical discussions with customers, suppliers, partners, and industry stakeholders.

  • Manage R&D programs, engineering resources, budgets, schedules, risks, and project priorities.
  
  
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet performance, quality, and reliability objectives.
  
  
  • Establish and monitor engineering KPIs and regularly report progress to senior leadership.
  
  
  • Drive effective cross-functional execution to support successful product launches and ongoing product enhancements.
  
  

• Engineering Leadership
  
  
  
  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams, including antenna engineering or filter engineering, mechanical engineering, drafting, and technical support personnel.
  
  
  • Build a high-performance engineering culture focused on innovation, accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
  
  
  • Coach, mentor, and develop engineering staff while supporting career growth and succession planning.
  
  
  • Establish departmental goals, performance metrics, and development plans aligned with corporate objectives.
  
  

• Business & Customer Support
  
  
  
  • Support business development and pre-sales activities through technical proposals, RFIs, RFPs, customer presentations, and solution development.
  
  
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Solutions Engineering to define product requirements and strategic initiatives.
  
  
  • Serve as a technical representative of the organization during customer engagements, industry conferences, and strategic projects.
  
  

What You’ll Bring:

• Required Qualifications:
  
  
  
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related discipline. Master’s/Ph.D. degree is a plus.
  
  
  • 10+ years of experience in RF, antenna, filter, or wireless product design and development
  
  
  • 5+ years of engineering leadership or people management experience.
  
  

• Proven experience leading products from concept through mass production.


• Strong understanding of RF design principles, product development processes, and manufacturing considerations.


• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional engineering teams and delivering complex technical programs.

• Technical expertise with hands-on experience in one or more of the following:

• Antenna design and development.


• RF filter and signal conditioning product design.


• RF systems operating from VHF/UHF through microwave and mmWave frequencies.


• Wireless communication technologies including P25, TETRA, DMR, LTE, 5G, and satellite communications.


• RF simulation, testing, validation, and performance optimization.


• Product reliability, design verification, and manufacturing transfer.

• Preferred:

• Experience working within public safety, defense, transportation, utility, or satellite communications markets.
