Summary
The Class 3 Driver/Picker will be responsible for operating Rear Loader Trucks. This role supports public health by ensuring timely service, adherence to safety and environmental regulations, and respectful interaction with the community.

Responsibilities
As a Class 3 Driver/Picker, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Must adhere to Miller Waste Systems safety protocols and must be familiar with Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • The safe and efficient operation of a MWS Rear Loader Truck.
  • Must have excellent knowledge of and be familiar with the City of Saint John and the surrounding towns and counties.
  • Ensure timely collection of waste and recyclable materials.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and ensure customers are serviced as per their contractual requirements and schedules.
  • Must use tablet computer to update routes and radio communication system to speak with dispatch.
  • Ensure the assigned vehicle is kept clean, properly maintained, and compliant with all safety standards.

Competencies & Qualifications
  • Successful candidates will have a valid Class 3 Driver’s Licence.
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract and no preventable accidents in the past year.
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience on each type of equipment is considered an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility with your work schedule is necessary as start and end times may vary. Saturdays, weekends and Statutory Holidays will be required at times.
  • Effective written and verbal communication is required.
